After the explosion at a perfume production facility in Başakşehir, the ensuing fire quickly grew. The incident caused panic in the area, and as teams continue to intervene in the fire, it was reported that many shops were damaged.
A fire broke out in a 2-story workplace where perfume production is carried out in Başakşehir, causing panic. The flames that started after the explosion quickly engulfed the entire building and then other shops. Firefighters are continuing to intervene in the fire.
FLAMES ROSE AFTER THE EXPLOSION
The fire occurred at around 22:30 in the Heskop Industrial Site in the İkitelli OSB District. The fire that broke out after the explosion in the perfume production workplace spread to the basement floor and the parking lot. Upon the notification, numerous fire trucks, health teams, and police units were dispatched to the region.
“AT FIRST WE THOUGHT IT WAS AN EARTHQUAKE”
Eyewitness Fatih Kiper, describing the moment of the incident, said, “The ground shook with the sound of the explosion. At first, we thought it was an earthquake. When we went outside, we saw people running, shouting ‘There’s a fire.’ We heard 2-3 more explosion sounds. We helped the people in the next shop get out.”
NUMEROUS SHOPS WERE DAMAGED
As a result of the fire spreading to nearby workplaces, many shops suffered heavy damage, and according to initial assessments, no injuries were reported.
