In the Mut district of Mersin, a TIR carrying marble with brake failure crashed into the retaining wall of an escape ramp under construction. As a result of the impact, the marbles on the TIR fell onto wall workers who were in a car at that time, causing 1 death and 3 injuries.

TRUCK HITS RETAINING WALL OF CONSTRUCTION-SITE ESCAPE RAMP
The accident occurred in the evening hours at the Burunköy location of the D-715 highway in Mut. The truck loaded with marble, driven by Y.G., coming from the direction of Karaman, crashed into the retaining wall of an escape ramp under construction after its brakes failed. Due to the impact, the marble stones carried by the truck fell onto the car workers who were present at the time.
ONE OF THREE WORKERS KILLED
Upon notification from nearby citizens who witnessed the accident, health and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene. In their investigation, the teams determined that worker Zafer Gezer (38) had lost his life, while B.Ç. and M.T.D., along with truck driver Y.G., were injured. The injured were taken to hospitals by ambulance after initial first aid. Zafer Gezer's body was taken to the morgue for examination. An investigation into the accident has been launched.
