Security camera footage has emerged of the traffic accident on the Gaziantep-Nizip D-400 highway in which 3 people lost their lives and 3 others were injured. In the footage, the car driven by Doğan Yanardağ, who is stated to have missed the turn, is seen swerving as it is hit by another vehicle coming from behind while it was making a reverse maneuver. It was learned that Doğan Yanardağ, Mertcan Taşdemir, and Hacı Zer, who lost their lives in the accident, had set out early in the morning to go to the garden for the pistachio harvest.
He missed the turn, reversed, and seconds later the terrible accident occurred. In the accident involving 2 cars on the Gaziantep-Nizip D-400 highway, 3 people lost their lives, and 3 people, including 2 children, were injured. Images of the accident captured by a workplace security camera revealed how the incident happened.
THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED IN THE MORNING HOURS
The accident occurred the previous day at around 06:00 at the 20th kilometer of the Gaziantep-Nizip D-400 highway.
The car with license plate 27 RM 004, driven by Mehmet Kalkan (38), rear-ended the car with license plate 06 AR 4964, driven by Doğan Yanardağ (51), which was traveling in the same direction.
Due to the impact, one of the vehicles went out of control and swerved to the side of the road. Upon reports from those around, health and security teams were dispatched to the area.
3 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES
In the accident, 25-year-old Mertcan Taşdemir, who was in the car driven by Doğan Yanardağ, lost his life at the scene.
The seriously injured driver Doğan Yanardağ and Hacı Zer (51), who was in the same car, were taken to the hospital after initial medical intervention by health teams. Despite all interventions by the doctors, Yanardağ and Zer could not be saved.
Thus, the number of people who lost their lives in the accident rose to 3.
2 CHILDREN WERE ALSO INJURED
The driver of the other car, Mehmet Kalkan, along with H.K. (11) and S.K. (9) who were in the vehicle, were injured in the accident.
The injured were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulances that arrived at the scene and were treated. No detailed statement was made regarding the health conditions of the injured.
THEY WERE GOING FOR PISTACHIO HARVEST
Another detail that emerged regarding the accident was the purpose of the journey of the 3 people who lost their lives.
It was learned that Doğan Yanardağ, Mertcan Taşdemir, and Hacı Zer had set out in the early morning hours to go to the orchard to harvest pistachios.
