The Ministry of National Education (MEB) provided an important convenience for civil servants whose children will start school before the new academic year. The Ministry announced that public employees will be granted 3 hours of administrative leave per day between September 7-11 within the scope of the school adaptation week.
The Ministry of National Education (MEB) has initiated a new era in children's school adaptation processes with the circular it published on "Transactions and Procedures for the 2026-2027 Academic Year".
In line with the provisions of the circular, families will be actively involved in the adaptation trainings to be held on September 7-11, 2026, for preschool education, 1st grade of primary school, and 5th grade of secondary school students. The program, which will be carried out within the framework of the "Family and Population 10 Years" initiative, aims to maximize school-family cooperation and manage the education process with a holistic approach.
3 HOURS OF LEAVE PER DAY FOR CIVIL SERVANTS
An important step has been taken for public employees to enable parents to be with their children during the adaptation week. According to the letter sent to public institutions and organizations by the Presidency General Secretariat, one of the parents working in the public sector will be considered on administrative leave during the adaptation training days if they request it. This leave will be arranged in accordance with the school hours of the student's registered school and will not exceed 3 hours per day.
"THE SCHOOL ROAD WITH MY FAMILY PROGRAM" WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
Family participation, which begins with the adaptation week, will not be limited to just the first week of September. The Ministry will integrate family participation, development, and guidance practices with each other and extend them across the entire academic year under the name "The School Road with My Family Program". In this way, it is aimed for parents to actively participate in the education process throughout the year and to ensure the sustainability of children's adaptation.
