While farmers across Turkey continue their protests against agricultural policies, Melih Gökçek made a striking post on his social media account. Targeting the protesting farmers, Gökçek stated, "They are protesting because our products are not profitable with a 3 million tractor. President, they have been given too much, goodbye."
In Edirne, farmers who experienced significant yield losses due to drought this year protested the announced sunflower prices by organizing a demonstration with their tractors. Former Mayor of Ankara, Melih Gökçek, shared the footage of the protest on his social media account and made a striking statement.
"THE PRESIDENT IS TOO MUCH FOR THEM BY 10 SHIRTS"
Gökçek, who used a derogatory language towards the farmers in his post, stated, "Everything changed after Erdoğan. They tweet about being hungry with a phone worth 100 thousand liras. They organize a protest with a tractor worth 3 million liras because our product is not valuable. The President is too much for them by 10 shirts, that's all."
