In his message issued on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day, the Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ünal Üstel, said, "I proudly celebrate the 104th anniversary of the Great Victory, in which the Turkish Nation inscribed its will for independence in history in golden letters. August 30 Victory is the declaration to the entire world of the Turkish Nation's determination to protect its homeland, flag, and independence, under the command of the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk."

Inspired by this great victory, the Turkish Cypriot people have also resolutely continued their struggle for existence and freedom; they have never given up their sovereignty, freedom, and state. With these feelings and thoughts, I congratulate the August 30 Victory Day of the Motherland, the Republic of Turkey, and the Turkish Cypriot people; I commemorate with mercy and gratitude Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms, and all our martyrs, and I remember our veterans with respect and gratitude," he stated.
