Due to the decline in Brent oil prices, gasoline was reduced by 1.38 lira and diesel by 1.81 lira. While the full reduction was not reflected in pump prices due to the equalization mobile system, the new prices have been in effect since midnight.
The decline in Brent crude oil prices has been reflected as a discount on fuel prices. Effective as of midnight, a discount of 1.38 lira for gasoline and 1.81 lira for diesel has been applied.
THE DROP IN OIL PRICES HAS HAD AN EFFECT
While fluctuations continue in energy markets, the ongoing tensions between the US-Israel and Iran continue to affect global oil markets. The recent drop in Brent crude oil prices has brought about a reduction in fuel prices.
GASOLINE AND DIESEL PRICES HAVE DECLINED
As of June 2, a total discount of 5.50 lira for gasoline and 7.25 lira for diesel was calculated. However, due to the current sliding scale tax system, the full discount was not reflected in pump prices. With the latest adjustment, the price per liter of gasoline decreased by 1.38 lira, and the price per liter of diesel decreased by 1.81 lira.
NEW FUEL PRICES
Following the discount, the price per liter of gasoline fell to 62.78 lira in Istanbul, 63.89 lira in Ankara, and 64.17 lira in Izmir. In eastern provinces, the price per liter dropped to 65.54 lira.
The price per liter of diesel was updated to 65.13 lira in Istanbul, 66.39 lira in Ankara, 66.66 lira in Izmir, and 68.14 lira in eastern provinces.
HOW DOES THE SLIDING SCALE TAX SYSTEM WORK?
Within the scope of the sliding scale tax system, implemented to prevent fuel price increases from being directly reflected at the pump, adjustments are made through the Special Consumption Tax. Thanks to this system, a significant portion of the price hikes is offset by tax reductions, limiting the impact of price increases on consumers.
While the sliding scale application continues for gasoline, price changes for diesel are directly reflected in pump prices due to the Special Consumption Tax limit being reached.
