Before the NATO Leaders Summit to be held in Ankara hosted by President Erdoğan, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan posted on his X account, stating, "The stage is set in Ankara." Indicating that Turkey is ready for the critical summit, Fidan emphasized that the decisions to be made in Ankara will shape the Euro-Atlantic security environment and said their goal is a more cohesive, more capable, and more resilient NATO.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made striking statements on the social media platform X before the NATO Leaders Summit, hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara.

Starting his post with the words "The stage is set in Ankara," Fidan stated that Turkey, under the leadership of President Erdoğan, is ready to host NATO members.

"DECISIONS MADE IN ANKARA WILL SHAPE THE FUTURE"

Fidan noted that the decisions to be reached in Ankara will not only provide solutions to current issues but will also shape the Euro-Atlantic security architecture in the coming years.

"THREATS HAVE BECOME MORE COMPLEX"

Emphasizing that collective defense remains NATO's core element, Fidan highlighted the changing strategic environment.

Stating that today's threats have become multidimensional, faster, and more complex, Fidan expressed that traditional metrics are insufficient to reflect this new security environment.

Fidan noted that deployable military capability, defense industry capacity, and operational readiness are now determining factors.

"RESTRICTIONS HAVE TURNED INTO A STRATEGIC BURDEN"

Stressing that Europe must contribute more to defense, Fidan said that restrictions limiting cooperation in the defense industry reduce efficiency and slow down collective response capacity.

Fidan stated that these restrictions have become a strategic burden and emphasized that European defense initiatives should be inclusive of all NATO allies.

"TURKEY'S AIM IS A MORE RESILIENT NATO"

Pointing out that the real issue is not just how to respond to threats, Fidan underscored the importance of creating a new cooperation model aligned with today's security realities.

Stating that the Ankara Summit will serve as a guide for NATO to adapt to the current security environment, Fidan summarized Turkey's goal as "A more cohesive, more capable, and more resilient alliance."
