Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek received the family of Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu. In a statement regarding the meeting, Gürlek stated that the incident was an organizational murder by FETÖ, noting that there are 21 detainees in the file and that the investigation will continue until the end.
\"THE INCIDENT WAS REFLECTED AS AN 'ACCIDENT'\" Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek received the family of the late founding General Chairman of the Great Unity Party, Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, who lost his life in 2009 when his helicopter crashed, at the Ministry of Justice. In the meeting with Yazıcıoğlu's wife Gülefer Yazıcıoğlu and his son Fatih Furkan Yazıcıoğlu, Minister Gürlek stated that the Department for Combating Unsolved Crimes is conducting a detailed examination of unsolved case files. \"The late Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu was truly a value for our country,\" said Minister Gürlek, drawing attention to the fact that the incident was initially reflected as a helicopter accident.
\"THE OPERATIONS WILL CONTINUE\" Stating that technical and expert personnel in the Department for Combating Unsolved Crimes are examining the issue, Minister Gürlek said, \"Of course, when we examined it, our attention was drawn to the fact that this was not an accident, that is, the late person was targeted by a certain group. Especially in those periods, between 2007 and 2010, the FETÖ armed terrorist organization began to grow. How do we know this? The Hrant Dink murder in 2007. The late Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu also became a target of this organization in 2009. Later on, there are very deep connections indicating that the said act was a murder as an organizational act, as an organization. You know, our Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office established a special team in the courthouse. Apart from our Ministry, we have colleagues in our Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office following the case. We carried out our first operation. As of now, there are 21 detained individuals in the file. These are mostly military personnel. These operations will definitely continue\" he said.
Minister Gürlek, emphasizing that the crash investigation team that first responded to the incident and the first military team that arrived are also being examined, stated that it was determined that HTS records and flight radar records from that date had been deleted.
\"SOLVING THIS MURDER IS OUR DUTY\" Saying \"All of these are an organizational effort,\" Minister Gürlek continued as follows:
\"You know, the helicopter pilot himself and his wife turned out to be in contact with the organization. Especially the pilot's phone calls with the organization's covert imams, the Elazığ covert imam, on the day of the incident, and his prior phone calls and meetings with Adil Öksüz, Adil Öksüz's coming to Turkey for this incident... All of these show us the organizational connection. The fact that the pilot's wife's fingerprints were found in Adil Öksüz's house, and similarly, let's not say accident now, it has been established that it is a murder. There is suspicion in that direction. We learned that the two military personnel who went to the scene when the first incident occurred, the team that removed the helicopter's black box, were later the team that went to detain our President at his residence in Marmaris on July 15. So, when we look at the incident, we saw in the big picture that this was an organizational scheme by FETÖ. Hopefully, the operation will continue. As I said, 21 people are currently detained. Our colleagues are working intensively. Solving this murder is our duty. Because Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu was truly a very important figure for this country, a character, a political leader.\"
\"WE WILL GO TO THE END\" Minister Gürlek stated that there is serious public appreciation for opening the file. Minister Gürlek said, \"We have to solve this incident. Because if there is a murder, the state has to solve it. Especially the Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu murder definitely needs to be solved. This is the state's debt, and let it be our promise to you. We will go to the end.\"
Minister Gürlek pointed out that the pilot of the aircraft flying over the helicopter had a special meeting with FETÖ's so-called TSK imam Adil Öksüz and the so-called Air Forces imam Kemal Batmaz before the accident in which Yazıcıoğlu lost his life, indicating that the incident was an organizational act.
\"THEY WENT TO THE USA BEFORE THE INCIDENT\" Reminding that FETÖ's so-called TSK imams Adil Öksüz and Kemal Batmaz went to America just before the July 15 treacherous coup attempt, Minister Gürlek said they determined that Öksüz similarly went to the USA just before the helicopter accident and returned before the crash, which indicates that the incident was organized.
\"THE ORGANIZATION ATTACHED IMPORTANCE TO HTS RECORDS\" Minister Gürlek emphasized that HTS records are very important, saying, \"Who talked to whom first, from which base station; that is, we examine whether it was an organizational act from HTS records. The deletion of radar records and HTS records was entirely the issue the organization attached the most importance to in those periods.\"
\"THE STATE DOES NOT LOOK AT INDIVIDUALS OR POSITIONS\" Stressing that the investigation will not be limited to a certain group, Minister Gürlek said that everyone with responsibility in the incident will be investigated. Minister of Justice Gürlek continued his words as follows:
\"So our promise to you, our promise as the state. As I said, there is an act in an organizational sense. We will go to the darkest point of this organizational act, that is, whoever has a role in this act, we will go to the end and solve it. There will be no dark point left. Both the public conscience will be satisfied and hopefully your conscience will be satisfied. This is our promise to you. This is our duty. Here, the state does not look at individuals. Is there responsibility in the act or not?\"
\"EVERYTHING WILL BECOME CLEAR IN CONSCIENCES\" Stating that everything will become clear in the public conscience regarding the issue, Minister Gürlek said, \"Both in your conscience and in the public conscience, everything will definitely become clear and be illuminated. Keep your spirits high. We are after this incident, we are behind it.\"
\"NOTHING WILL REMAIN IN THE DARK\" Minister Gürlek emphasized that they have shown the will and determination to go to the end of this matter, saying, \"Once again, my condolences. The late Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu was truly a great loss, a great value for Turkey. He was a strong leader loved by everyone. May God have mercy on him. But as the state, we will reveal this murder. Nothing will remain in the dark.\"
\"WE NEVER LOST OUR PURSUIT OF JUSTICE\" Gülefer Yazıcıoğlu, the wife of Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, stated that for the first time in years, seriously pursuing this incident made the family happy, saying, \"We thank you very much for this.\""}
I do not want to go back to those years. Because I personally witnessed what was done there. I hope and pray that this time it will come true, and we will be able to rest our heads on our pillows in peace," he said.
Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu's son, Fatih Furkan Yazıcıoğlu, also thanked Minister Gürlek for receiving them. Reminding that he was 14 years old when his father passed away, Yazıcıoğlu said, "I have now spent half of my life with this case. We live with it; for us, it is, of course, an event like yesterday. However, we never truly lost our pursuit of justice and rights. We never lost our hope. We believed that one day its time would come, and this organization's influence on this file would be broken in some way. Inshallah, in the upcoming process, we thank everyone who contributed, especially you, very much. We extend our gratitude. We are also here on behalf of our other martyr families. I convey their regards and thanks to you," he said.
