The Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, stated, "We do not have any agenda regarding the pension system or the calculation of pension payments."
Işıkhan made statements regarding the agenda on Beyaz TV and answered questions. In response to the question, "Will the retirement conditions change? Will there be a new regulation in the calculation of pension payments?" Minister Işıkhan replied: "We do not have any agenda regarding the pension system or the calculation of pension payments, but we are ready for any formation that may come from outside, especially in line with the targets we have drawn in accordance with the Medium-Term Program and our 12th Development Plan, to improve our pension system and bring it to a better point." WILL THE HOLIDAY BONUSES BE REMOVED?Recalling that the holiday bonus application for retirees started in 2018, Işıkhan said, "We wish to continue this tradition in 2025. We have always stood by our retirees." Işıkhan stated that the minimum wage is one of the fundamental pillars of working life that concerns millions of citizens. Stating that the minimum wage is not a process determined solely by the government or the Ministry, Işıkhan expressed, "God willing, we will start gathering our Minimum Wage Determination Commission at the beginning of December to determine the minimum wage that will be valid in 2025." "THE SGK PREMIUM DEBTS OF MUNICIPALITIES"Addressing the SGK premium debts of municipalities, Işıkhan said they received 7.9 billion lira in cash payments from municipalities in the last few weeks. Işıkhan continued by stating that they have also arranged for much more than that in installments: "We do not immediately place a mortgage on the vehicles or bank accounts of municipalities. Many municipalities have contacted us. We have established communication patterns with all our municipalities, regardless of party affiliation. When a municipality takes a step towards us, we, as the Ministry, take 10 steps. The total debts of all our municipalities, which were 96 billion lira on March 31, have now reached 140 billion because interest is added every day. It is not possible for us to give up on these. I want to make an announcement to our mayors from here: We will collect these with interest sooner or later."
