"OUR DECISION REGARDING THE TERRORIST'S BROTHER IS VERY CLEAR"

Çiğli Mayor Onur Emrah Yıldız stated, "After the terrorist attack at TUSAŞ, which resulted in the martyrdom of 5 personnel and the injury of 22 citizens, upon receiving the news that the brother of the female terrorist was working in our municipality, we severed all ties with our personnel named D.A. He was employed long before I took office, and it has also surprised us that he obtained an armed security certificate. Due to the sensitivity of the issue, our decision regarding the brother of the terrorist who carried out this treacherous attack on the unity and solidarity of our nation is very clear, and I wish mercy for our martyrs and a speedy recovery for the injured. His special security identity card was renewed by the governorship on June 30, 2022."

Yıldız also reported that Alçiçek started working as security personnel at a subcontractor firm on May 1, 2013, and after the decree law No. 696, which determined the conditions for subcontracted workers to be hired as permanent staff, he entered the municipal company on April 1, 2018, and was dismissed from his job on October 28, 2024.

WHAT IS TUSAŞ?

Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) was established on June 28, 1973, under the Ministry of Industry and Technology to reduce Turkey's dependence on foreign defense industry. Following the decision to use F-16 aircraft to meet the Turkish Air Force's need for combat aircraft, TUSAŞ was established in 1984 as a Turkish-American joint investment company for 25 years to produce the F-16 aircraft, integrate systems on the aircraft, and conduct flight tests to deliver to our Air Force. Before the completion of the 25-year period, in 2005, the foreign shares of TAI were purchased by Turkish shareholders, and the company was restructured. In this context, TAI and TUSAŞ merged and expanded their activities under the umbrella of TUSAŞ – Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc., becoming Turkey's technology center in the development, modernization, production, system integration, and life cycle support processes of aerospace and defense industry systems.
