The Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, Murat, announced that a large social housing campaign will be launched across the country. The institution stated, "By the end of the year, we will have conducted the largest campaign ever, covering all 81 provinces. Young people without homes and retirees will be able to become homeowners." The institution also mentioned that the details of the campaign will be shared by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, made statements regarding the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Istanbul during a live broadcast.
NEW SOCIAL HOUSING CAMPAIGN IN 81 PROVINCES
Kurum announced that a large social housing campaign will be launched nationwide, stating, "By the end of the year, we will have conducted the largest campaign ever, covering all 81 provinces. Young people without homes and retirees will be able to own homes," he said. Kurum added that the details of the campaign will be shared by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

"WE WILL BE CONDUCTING THE LARGEST CAMPAIGN EVER"
"Healthy housing must be built to combat earthquakes. Since 2002, we have built 1.5 million houses with TOKİ for this purpose. We did this for our low-income citizens. We built 125,000 of these in Istanbul. Not a single TOKİ building was destroyed in the Maraş earthquake. We will continue this. With new social housing campaigns, we will enable our citizens without homes to become homeowners. Our President has announced this good news. By the end of the year, we will be conducting the largest campaign ever for our citizens, covering all 81 provinces, God willing. We will announce all the details by the end of the year. We are carrying out our work on this. It will also be in all 81 provinces and in the districts that request it.
"OUR YOUNG PEOPLE AND RETIREES WILL BE ABLE TO OWN HOMES"
Our young people without homes and our retirees will be able to own homes. We have allocated quotas for our young people; I see on the street that 18 and 20-year-old young people have become homeowners through the lottery. Isn't it beautiful to start life with a new home, perhaps even before getting married? We will allocate quotas and provide these opportunities to our citizens.

In the campaign for 250,000 houses, we also promised 50,000 houses for Istanbul, and construction is still ongoing. Currently, 44,000 houses are under construction in Istanbul. On one hand, while we are building nearly 500,000 houses in the earthquake zone, on the other hand, we are taking these steps so that our citizens can have homes, not empty promises in the election arena. This is to reduce the earthquake risk in Istanbul, even if just a little. In Istanbul, as in all of Turkey, we will build both rental housing and social housing projects, and we will be announcing good news to our citizens by the end of the year.
