Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek authorized an investigation into former Capital Markets Board (CMB) Chairman İbrahim Ömer Gönül.
The process gained momentum with the examination initiated upon the request of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Following the completion of the preliminary examination, with the authorization decision issued by Minister Şimşek, the legal obstacle to opening a judicial investigation into former CMB Chairman İbrahim Ömer Gönül has been removed.
