Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin met with the national education directors of 81 provinces in Şırnak.
“WE ARE THE DAY AFTER AN IMPORTANT STEP WAS TAKEN”
Speaking at the opening of the meeting held at the Şırnak Teachers' House, Minister Tekin stated that they struggle to ensure the security of life, property, honor, and chastity of every person living in this country, and to guarantee fundamental rights and freedoms and the freedom to live humanely, and that they engage in politics for this purpose.
Reminding that the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration was accepted in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) yesterday, Tekin said, "I am very happy today. We are the day after an important step was taken."
Pointing out that Türkiye has reached this point thanks to the steps taken since 2002, Tekin noted the following: "At the point we have reached today, the public and 468 deputies from different political parties said, 'Yes, Türkiye can now pass this Law.' Therefore, the democratization steps taken by our President over the past 24 years have had a tremendous contribution throughout this entire process. What falls upon us from now on is to embrace this process."
“WE ARE OBLIGED TO RAISE OUR CHILDREN IN A WAY THAT THEY WILL PROTECT THE UNITY AND SOLIDARITY OF THIS COUNTRY”
Tekin emphasized that when they ensure the national unity and solidarity of the country and weed out and cure the seeds of discord that have been sown, Türkiye will reach very different points economically, socially, and politically, and noted that what they are trying to do with the Türkiye Century Education Model is exactly this.
Underlining that they persistently emphasize national unity and solidarity in all activities carried out in schools, Tekin stated, "The first public authority to take initiative in doing this is us. We are obliged to raise our children in a way that they will protect the unity and solidarity of this country. In the upcoming period, this issue will be our main agenda. We will always stand by all our citizens regardless of their ethnic or religious identity."
PRIORITY ON "FAMILY SCHOOL" AND "PARENT SCHOOL" IN THE NEW TERM
Tekin stated that they have completed an academic year and are preparing for a new academic term, thanked all provincial directors for their efforts, and wished them success for the new academic year.
Minister Tekin, expressing that they attach importance to including families in the process while designing the Türkiye Century Education Model, gave the instruction to continue prioritizing the "Family School" and "Parent School" programs in the new term.
Tekin stated that their efforts are being sabotaged by enemies of the country and the nation, saying, "The greater their criticisms, the greater the meaning of our work and the added value it creates for the national unity and solidarity of this country."
The Provincial National Education Directors' Meeting, where general evaluations regarding educational activities were made and preparations for the 2026-2027 academic year and school-family cooperation efforts were discussed, will continue for two days with presentations by unit directors.
