Former Israeli agents reported that the plans for attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon date back 10 years and involved the use of radios rigged with explosives. At least 37 people lost their lives in the attacks.

Two former Israeli agents with knowledge of the attack carried out by detonating Hezbollah's beepers claimed that the planning dates back 10 years.

EXPLOSIVES WERE MANUFACTURED IN ISRAEL

Speaking to CBS television, the two former Mossad agents stated that the detonated devices were produced in Israel. In two waves of attacks, first beepers were detonated, followed by radios. Thousands of devices were detonated over two days, resulting in at least 37 deaths and thousands of injuries. Many people sustained life-altering injuries.

"THEY USED TRAPPED RADIOS FOR 10 YEARS"

The former Mossad agents claimed that Hezbollah members had been using Israeli-made radios that had been rigged for 10 years. An agent named Michael explained that explosives were hidden inside the batteries that powered the radios. He also mentioned that Mossad chose the radios due to their close proximity to the chest.

"WE TEST EVERYTHING SEVERAL TIMES"

According to the same agent, Hezbollah purchased over 16,000 radios "at a good price" from a fake company linked to Mossad without suspicion 10 years ago. The same operation was expanded two years ago to include beepers.

According to the agents, Mossad determined that Hezbollah had purchased beepers from a Taiwanese company called Gold Apollo at that time. Intelligence agents produced beepers rigged with explosives branded Gold Apollo without the Taiwanese company noticing. And they fronted these devices with a company. Mossad agents claimed that they only placed explosives powerful enough to harm the user in the devices.

In the program, a second agent named Gabriel explained, "We test everything several times to ensure minimal damage."

"WE LED THEM TO BUY DEVICES WITH ADS"

The former agents also stated that a ringtone was chosen to create an "emergency impression" to draw attention to the trigger that would detonate the devices. An agent named Gabriel said that Mossad directed Hezbollah to purchase beepers through internet advertisements. Advertisements can be targeted at a specific group or geographical area online.

"WE CREATED A FAKE WORLD"

The agents explained what was done to avoid raising Hezbollah's suspicions: "We have an incredible ability to create overseas companies that cannot be linked to Israel in any way. They had no idea that what they purchased came from us. Like the Truman Show, everything behind the scenes was controlled by us. We created a fake world. We wrote the script, we directed it. The producers and actors were us, and the world was our stage."

"WE DETONATED WHEN THEY STARTED TO SUSPECT"

The CBS report noted that Hezbollah purchased 5,000 rigged beepers by September 2024. The report also mentioned that the devices were detonated due to concerns that Hezbollah had started to become suspicious.
