The police received information on Friday that the little girl was brought to the hospital dead from Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital. An initial examination revealed signs of strangulation on the child's neck.

An investigation into the incident was immediately launched, and the child's relatives, including the mother, were interrogated. After a long interrogation, the mother confessed to her crime and stated that she had strangled her daughter.

In her statement during the interrogation, the mother said that her first husband had left her and that she later met a man named Rahul through Instagram. The woman moved to Delhi with the intention of marrying Rahul.

However, Rahul and his family did not accept the woman's child and therefore rejected the marriage. In her desperation, the mother killed her child.

Additionally, the woman reported to the police that before coming to Delhi, she had lived with a relative in Himachal Pradesh and that during this time, her child had been sexually abused.

A case was filed at the Ashok Vihar police station under Article 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (punishment for murder) and Article 65(2) (punishment for rape in certain circumstances), as well as Article 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) (punishment for aggravated sexual assault).

The police reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
