Imane Moti, the mother who was caught on hidden camera abusing her 1-year-old daughter in Antalya, was sentenced to 6 years in prison for the crime of 'torture.' The father, noticing the bruises on his daughter's body, installed a hidden camera in the house and detected the mother's violence.

Osman Vesek, who revealed that his wife was abusing their 1-year-old daughter through hidden camera footage, has had his complaint lead to the arrest of Imane Moti (25), who was sentenced to 6 years in prison for the crime of 'Torture'.

Osman Vesek, who married Moroccan national Imane Moti in 2023, had a daughter from this marriage last year. Noticing the bruises on his daughter's body, Vesek asked his wife, who responded that the child often fell because she had just started walking. Concerned for some time due to warnings from those around him and the bruises on his daughter's body, Vesek installed a hidden camera in the house. After watching the footage, Vesek saw that his daughter was subjected to violence by her mother. Osman Vesek filed a criminal complaint against his wife with the footage he had. Moti, who was detained after the complaint, was arrested by the duty judge after her procedures.

DECISION HEARING HELD

Imane Moti, the detained defendant, appeared again before the 34th Criminal Court of First Instance for the crimes of 'Torture against a descendant and simple injury'. The defendant requested her acquittal, stating that she regretted her actions. The court ruled that the defendant Imane Moti was sentenced to 6 years in prison for the crime of 'Torture'. No reduction was applied to the sentence.

'I BELIEVE THERE WAS INTENT TO KILL'

After the hearing, Osman Vesek stated, "The person who committed the act has received their punishment and was sentenced to 6 years in prison. The crimes committed against the child are evident. If this is the punishment in the eyes of justice, we leave the discretion to Turkish justice. Some of our requests were again rejected. We will appeal on these matters. I believe there was intent to kill my child in the incidents that occurred. I want this to be taken into consideration morally," he said.

'WE WILL APPEAL THE DECISION'

Osman Vesek's lawyer Onur Can Eroğlu stated, "As a result of the trial, the defendant mother was sentenced to 6 years in prison for the crime of 'Torture'. The court did not apply any reductions. However, it should be noted that the court did not investigate some issues that we requested to be investigated from the very beginning. One of the most important of these was the report that needed to be obtained regarding whether the acts of violence committed by the defendant were suitable for killing. When imposing a sentence, the upper limit was not applied. If a person who has committed violence against their own child multiple times and in a manner suitable for killing is not given the maximum sentence, the question of who will be given such a sentence is left to the discretion of the public. We will appeal this decision," he said.
