TR 40 33 Productions, co-owned by famous actor Murat Cemcir and director Selçuk Aydemir, who have produced box-office record-breaking projects in Turkish cinema, has been officially declared bankrupt by a court.
In Turkish cinema, the road has come to an end for TR 40 33 Film Yapım Bilişim Organizasyon Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi, which achieved giant box office successes such as 'Çalgı Çengi İkimiz' and 'Ailecek Şaşkınız'. The Istanbul 1st Commercial Court of First Instance concluded the trial process it conducted regarding the company, which could not overcome its financial bottleneck, and announced the official bankruptcy decision.
THEY MADE AN AMBITIOUS ENTRY IN 2016 Founded in 2016 in partnership with Murat Cemcir and director-screenwriter Selçuk Aydemir, the company made an extremely ambitious start in the cinema sector. Before founding his own production company, Cemcir, who managed to surpass a total audience threshold of 20 million with the 5 films he appeared in, also signed multi-million box office projects under the TR 40 33 umbrella that were met with intense interest from cinema lovers.
THE FINANCIAL BOTTLENECK COULD NOT BE OVERCOME The company, operating in Beybi Giz Plaza in Sarıyer Maslak, could not overcome the economic difficulties it experienced in recent years. The legal process was completed for the company, whose last cinema project as producer was the 2022 production 'Mahalleden Arkadaşlar'.
The feud between Ahmet Kural and Murat Cemcir, who were once inseparable, continues. As a result of the trial conducted within the scope of the lawsuit file no. 2026/327 of Istanbul 1st Commercial Court of First Instance, it was decided to open the company's bankruptcy as of 14:48 on October 1, 2026. While the decision was notified by publication in accordance with Article 166 of the Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law, the liquidation process became official with the registration of the Bankruptcy Office's file no. 2026/18.
