THE ASSETS OF MURAT ONGUN HAVE BEEN SEIZED
The repercussions of İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu's detention a few days ago in a corruption and terrorism investigation continue. A new development has occurred regarding Murat Ongun, the Chairman of the Board of İBB's subsidiary Medya A.Ş. and İmamoğlu's press advisor, who was also detained in the same operation. The assets of Murat Ongun have been seized.
CORRUPTION AND TERRORISM OPERATION AGAINST İBB
Investigations initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu and 99 suspects for crimes including "being a leader of a criminal organization," "being a member of a criminal organization," "extortion," "bribery," "qualified fraud," "illegally obtaining personal data," and "interfering with a tender," are ongoing. Additionally, investigations have been launched against İmamoğlu, İBB Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, and Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, among 7 suspects, for the crime of "aiding the PKK/KCK terrorist organization."
87 PEOPLE IN CUSTODY
Following the detention orders, law enforcement agencies took action, detaining 84 suspects, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, İBB Advisor Murat Ongun, Beylikdüzü Mayor Murat Çalık, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, and singer Ercan Saatçi. During the ongoing operations, 3 more suspects with detention orders were captured. The detained suspects have been taken to the Istanbul Police Department's Vatan Campus, where their processing is ongoing. Efforts to capture 19 suspects are also continuing.
