Mete Gazoz and Elif Berrar Gökkır, who represented Turkey in the mixed doubles archery event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, were eliminated in the round of 16 after losing 5-4 to Japan. Japan advanced to the quarter-finals with the advantage of "closer to the center arrow".

In the quarterfinals, the Turkish team faced Japan represented by Satsuki Noda and Junya Nakanishi. The national team lost the match 5-4 and was eliminated. They lost the first set 38-37 but equalized with a score of 39-38 in the second set. Japan won the third set 39-37, while the Turkish team won the fourth set 40-36 with "perfect score" shots. The final set ended in a 19-19 tie, and Japan advanced to the quarterfinals with the advantage of a "closer to the center arrow."
MALE NATIONAL TEAM MADE HISTORY
Our Classic Bow Male National Team won the bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The national team, consisting of Mete Gazoz, Muhammed Abdullah Yıldırmış, and Ulaş Berkim Tümer, competed against Wenchao Kao, Zhongyuan Li, and Yan Wang representing China at Les Invalides in Paris. The national team won the first set 55-54 but lost the second set 57-56. They won the third set 55-54 and the fourth set 56-54 against China, bringing the score to 6-2 and securing the bronze medal. The national archers experienced the joy of winning the first medal for Turkey at Paris 2024.
