National boxer Busenaz Sürmeneli won the gold medal and became the world champion by defeating her Uzbek opponent Navbakhor Khamidova 5-0 in the 66 kg final at the Women's World Boxing Championship held in Serbia. With this victory, Busenaz achieved her third consecutive title, following her wins in 2019 and 2022.

HE DID NOT GIVE HIS UZBEK RIVAL A CHANCE
In the final match of the 66 kg category held at the Cair Sports Center in Niš, top seed Busenaz faced Navbakhor Khamidova from Uzbekistan. Playing significantly better than her opponent in all three rounds, Busenaz won the match 5-0 and became the world champion.
3RD CONSECUTIVE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
National boxer Busenaz Sürmeneli has managed to win gold medals in her last three world championships. After becoming the world champion in 2019 and 2022, she also achieved this in 2025. The 26-year-old national athlete, who won a gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, also has one gold medal each in the European Championships, European Games, and Mediterranean Games.
