A fire that broke out in a pergola in the garden of an apartment building in Çorum's Buharaevler Neighborhood and spread to parked vehicles caused terrifying moments. In the incident, where residents pushed a car at risk of burning away from the flames, the fire was extinguished by fire department intervention, while a minibus and the pergola became unusable.
In Çorum, a fire broke out in the garden of an apartment building on Dr. İlhan Gürel Street in the Buharaevler neighborhood during the evening hours.
THEY TRIED TO PUSH THE CAR AWAY FROM THE FLAMES
The fire, which started in a gazebo in the apartment garden, quickly grew. The flames spread to a minibus and a car parked next to the gazebo. Residents who noticed the fire reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Meanwhile, citizens tried to push the car in the flame-engulfed area away from the fire. With the intense efforts of the neighborhood residents, the vehicle was moved to a safe zone, while the minibus and gazebo were consumed by the flames.
BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL
The fire crews that arrived at the scene intervened and brought the flames under control. No injuries occurred in the fire, but the minibus and car were damaged. The gazebo became unusable. Police and fire teams have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
