In Sivas, the snow that fell as high as the buildings was reminiscent of Russia's Kamchatka region. Citizens living in the countryside dug tunnels to reach their barns.
In Sivas, one of the provinces where winter is the harshest, the rainiest winter in recent years is being experienced. With the recent effective rainfall and thaw, the snow depth in rural areas has reached 3 meters.
SNOW DEPTH REACHED THE ROOF OF THE BARN
The snow in the village of Başören, located in the Altınyayla district, negatively affected life. The snow masses formed along the building were reminiscent of Russia's Kamchatka region. Residents of the village dug a tunnel to feed their animals in the barn. Bilal Erdoğan, a villager, captured moments of himself walking on the snow to reach the roof of his barn.
ICICLES REACHING THE GROUND
Bilal Erdoğan said, "This is not Russia's Kamchatka, nor is it Alaska. This is the village of Başören in Altınyayla. As you can see, there is no decrease in the snow, only an increase. From this point on, we will pray that this snow melts. If a strong wind comes, God forbid. The icicles, as you can see, are touching the ground."
