Despite his conversation with Trump, Netanyahu declared that military operations would not stop and that attacks in southern Lebanon would continue resolutely.

In an official statement on social media platform X, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that he had held a meeting with US President Donald Trump. However, responding to Trump's statements that "attacks will stop," the Israeli Prime Minister stated that he conveyed to Trump that they would resume airstrikes on Beirut if Hezbollah continued to target Israeli territory. Emphasizing that he would not compromise on this stance, Netanyahu underscored that military operations on the ground would continue, saying, "At the same time, the Israeli army will continue its activities in southern Lebanon as planned."
ATTACK WAS HALTED BY US LAST-MINUTE INTERVENTION
Earlier in the day, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announced that he had given a clear order to the military to carry out airstrikes on the Dahiyeh district of the Lebanese capital, Beirut. However, according to claims in the Israeli press, this large-scale airstrike planned on the Dahiyeh district was stopped at the last minute by a US last-minute intervention. Following this diplomatic brake, US President Donald Trump appeared before cameras and announced to the world that, as a result of contacts with both Israel and Hezbollah, the parties had reached an agreement not to attack each other.
