According to a report by Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, it was noted that Netanyahu will hold a meeting with security officials regarding "Turkey's increasing influence" in the country following the fall of the Baath regime in Syria on December 8, 2024.
In a report by Channel 12 television, it was stated that Prime Minister Netanyahu is "worriedly following the rapprochement between the new administration in Syria and Turkey."
The report mentioned that Netanyahu will address "Turkey's increasing dominance in Syria" at the security meeting on Syria this evening.
CLAIM OF TURKISH MILITARY BASE IN HOMS
On the other hand, the Walla news site claimed that the Syrian administration is in advanced discussions with Ankara to transfer a military base in the Tedmur (Palmyra) district of Homs province to the Turkish army in exchange for economic, military, and political assistance.
