R.H.U., who allegedly sexually abused E.Ö., whom he met on an online gaming platform two years ago in Antalya, kidnapped the victim by forcing her into a vehicle while she was going to the market two months before the verdict hearing of the case in Istanbul. Mother Nagihan Solak stated that they rejected the reconciliation offer, noted that her daughter is an epilepsy patient and cannot access her medication, and asked authorities for help.

He met E. Ö. (18) on an online gaming platform and allegedly sexually abused her. The defendant R. H. U., who was on trial demanding up to 20 years in prison for sexual abuse, forcibly kidnapped the young girl, who did not withdraw her complaint, in broad daylight on the street. Two months before the verdict hearing, when the family rejected the 'conciliation' offer, it was alleged that E. Ö., who left the house saying 'I am going to the market,' was forcibly put into a vehicle by the defendant and his accomplices and taken to Antalya.

TOOK HER TO THE CLIFFS AND ABUSED HER

E. Ö. went to Antalya on vacation with her family in the summer of 2024. According to the allegation, after chatting with R. H. U., whom she met on the online gaming platform, for a while, she met him with her mother's permission. It was claimed that E. Ö., who was 16 at the time, was taken to the cliffs by R. H. U. and subjected to sexual abuse there. Upon returning from vacation, mother Nagihan Solak noticed changes in her daughter's behavior and said she considered it normal due to adolescence, but her daughter could not tell her what happened because she was scared.

ALLEGEDLY SEXUALLY ABUSED A SECOND TIME ON HER BIRTHDAY

According to the allegation, one year later, on April 24, 2025, E. Ö.'s 17th birthday, R. H. U. came to Istanbul. Meeting E. Ö. in a grassy area in Bağcılar, R. H. U. allegedly sexually abused her for the second time. When she returned home, the mother noticed a wound on her daughter's neck and took E. Ö. to the hospital. After examinations at the hospital, it was determined that E. Ö. had been sexually abused. The family subsequently filed a complaint.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation against R. H. U. for the crime of 'Aggravated sexual abuse of a child' and filed an indictment demanding 20 years in prison. According to the allegation, requests for the arrest of the defendant, who was tried without detention, on the grounds of violating judicial control measures were not accepted. It was stated that E. Ö., who gave testimony accompanied by a pedagogue during the court process, could not tell what she experienced for a long time because she was scared.

THEY WANTED TO CLOSE THE CASE

Mother Nagihan Solak alleged that about 2 months before the verdict hearing, after her daughter became a legal adult, the defendant's relatives contacted her and offered to close the case through conciliation. It was learned that the mother and daughter did not accept this offer and did not withdraw their complaints. Subsequently, on July 2, it was alleged that E. Ö., who left the house saying 'I am going to the market,' was forcibly put into a vehicle by R. H. U. and his accomplices and taken to Antalya.

"HE TOOK MY DAUGHTER TO THE CLIFFS AND ABUSED HER WHEN SHE WAS 16"

Mother Nagihan Solak, who fears for her daughter's life, said, "She is 18 now, it's been 2 months since she turned 18. Two years ago, we went to Antalya as a family for a vacation. There she had a boyfriend, I allowed her to meet him. They met through a game. Later, they asked for my permission to take my daughter out to walk in parks and gardens. He took my daughter to the cliffs and abused her there when she was 16. My daughter couldn't tell me this. We had our vacation and came back. But her behavior was strange, she was withdrawn, not her usual self. After returning to Istanbul, my daughter withdrew into herself for a while and didn't speak. She started yelling, shouting, locking herself in rooms, distancing herself from me. I thought it was adolescence, being a young girl, and didn't push her," she said.

"HE WASN'T ARRESTED EVEN THOUGH OUR LAWYER FILED MANY PETITIONS"

Solak said, "About a year passed during this time. This person came to Istanbul again because it was my daughter's birthday. When he came to Istanbul, he says, 'She consented, she wanted it' in a grassy area in Bağcılar. How can a person show consent in a grassy area? My daughter has epilepsy. She has some problems of her own, psychological problems too. We presented all of this to the court with reports. He repeated the crime here, once in Antalya, a second time. She withdrew into herself again, and I saw tears on her neck. When I asked my daughter, she said 'Nothing, mom,' and I got suspicious. I insisted she tell me, but she couldn't, she cried. She was crying constantly, and I took her to the hospital because something was wrong with her, and it came out. We filed a complaint afterward. At the hospital, it was clear she had been abused. With the report we got from there, we went to the police station and filed a complaint. While I thought he would be arrested immediately, Antalya gave a non-prosecution decision, no investigation was even conducted. Our prosecutor here opened the case with the heaviest penalty, to be tried with 20 years, and the court accepted it. But despite all our efforts, despite all our petitions, despite the fact that he could contact my daughter again to save himself, could trick her, kidnap her, or flee the country, and that he violated the conditions of judicial control, our lawyer filed many petitions regarding these, but he wasn't arrested," she said.

"THEY SAID 'LET'S SMOOTH THIS OVER'"

Solak said, "When I tried to say these things in court, I wasn't listened to properly. My daughter wasn't listened to, she said many times that she was scared. She was listened to with pedagogues and remained silent. This person wrote to my daughter from several fake social media accounts saying 'Let's talk.' 3-4 days after my daughter became an adult, his family contacted me. They called me and said, 'Let's settle this. Let's close this matter, let's meet and talk, let's smooth this over.' I said, 'No, I'm not withdrawing my complaint, and my daughter isn't either.' At that moment, my daughter was beside me, and the only thing she said to me was, 'Mom, damn him, let him be arrested. I want to live in peace now. I want this to end. I want him to be arrested.' I raised my child alone, frankly, let me say that. I raised my child with utmost care. My daughter is not the kind of child who would do such a thing. Despite all my efforts, all my struggles, all my comings and goings to the courthouse. I'm still at the courthouses. Despite all my efforts, despite saying all this, he wasn't arrested and he kidnapped my daughter. On July 2, around noon, he kidnapped my daughter," she said.

Mother: My Daughter Is Not the Type to Run Away

"MY DAUGHTER WASN'T A CHILD WHO WOULD RUN AWAY"

Solak said, "She was at home, she took the market card to go to the market and said, 'Mom, I'm going to the market, I'll be back,' and left. 10 minutes passed, 20 minutes passed, I didn't call thinking, 'She'll come, I shouldn't pressure her, let her feel comfortable.' 40 minutes passed, I couldn't take it anymore, finally I called. I said, 'My daughter, where are you?' I call, she doesn't answer."

My daughter was not a child who would run away. I went out immediately in that panic, I called her family, they didn't answer. After that, I've been calling my daughter, she doesn't answer. Normally, people who would call me saying 'Let's settle this matter' turned into a wall and didn't contact me. Then we went to the police station to file a complaint. There are witnesses in the neighborhood who saw her being forcibly taken away by 3-4 men."

"HER FATHER TOLD ME, 'OKAY, WE TOOK HER, IT'S DONE, IT'S OVER, WHY ARE YOU DRAGGING THIS OUT?'"

Solak said, "My daughter's friend also contacted the person who abducted her. We said we wanted to talk to her, to hear about her health, but we never spoke with my daughter, we weren't allowed to. Her social media accounts were taken over, her phone was turned off. They never get in touch. I spoke with her father. He mocked me, saying 'Okay, we took her, it's done, it's over, why are you dragging this out? If you drag it out too much, things will happen to you.' They really called and threatened me like that. Later, her uncle called. Then he said, 'Let's solve this nicely, or we'll solve it by force.' They didn't call from their own numbers; they called from international and untraceable numbers—I learned this from the prosecutor's office—and they threaten me from such numbers. I was told not to look for my child, to leave my child alone," he said.

"THEY TOOK MY CHILD BY FORCE"

Solak continued, "This incident is just a plan by the perpetrator to save himself. I raised my child alone. She's not that type of child. If you said she's a girl who runs away, who goes out and parties—no. My daughter took the university entrance exam. We had dreams. I was going to buy her a car. She went for an internship to get her driver's license and saved money. If she were a child who would run away, why would she think about these things about her future? Why would she do that? With nothing going on, my child went out saying 'I'm going to the market.' They took my child by force. But I can't make anyone hear me, I can't tell anyone. News also comes to me that they are not a good family, almost mafia-like. They run a car rental business in Antalya," he said.

"SHE HAS EPILEPSY AND NEEDS TO TAKE MEDICATION"

Solak said, "I don't want my child to stay in such an environment. I ask for help from our esteemed state leaders. Let them hear me. I only want my child back, nothing else. I just want to see her once, talk to her once. I want to see my child's face. No one abandons their child. I can't say 'I'll let her go, let her deal with whatever happens.' That's what I'm trying to make heard. If she were that kind of girl, I could say 'let her get married, go, start her own home,' but she's not. She used to say 'Mom, I don't want to get married, I'll live with you forever.' We were planning to get her a job at the courthouse once she got a score from the KPSS exam. She wanted to be a police officer, a nurse. Why would a child with such dreams run away at 18? Why would she run away when there's a court hearing in 2 months, a decision hearing? I believe my child is being held by force. I want someone to hear me and step into this matter, that's all I ask. I'm worried about my child's health and psychology. She has epilepsy and needs to take medication. She didn't even take her medicine with her. If my child has a seizure, who is responsible? If something happens to my child, who is responsible?" he said.
