The Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat, stated that they will introduce new facilities for tradesmen and artisans with 5 steps, saying, "The maturity of the tradesman loans provided through credit guarantee cooperatives was 3 months, and we are extending this up to 6 months upon request."
Bolat provided information about the conveniences they will offer to tradesmen. Emphasizing that they see tradesmen, artisans, and cooperatives as the foundation of the economy, Bolat said, "We are implementing regulations in many areas, from expanding the scope of loans provided to tradesmen to facilitating their access." LOAN TERMS EXTENDED TO 6 MONTHSBolat pointed out that they have 5 good news for these groups, making the following assessment: Firstly, the maturity of the tradesman loans provided through credit guarantee cooperatives was 3 months. We are extending this up to 6 months upon request. Secondly, the total loan repayment period was reduced to 36 months. We are expanding the total loan repayment period for tradesmen from 36 months to 48 months, increasing it from 3 years to 4 years. Thirdly, there were restrictions based on NACE codes when loans were granted. A new study will be conducted on this. Loans will be provided to cover more NACE codes. Fourthly, work is being done to establish a guild foundation. These studies are being carried out by our AK Party Kırşehir Deputy Necmettin Erkan in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Fifthly, previously, tradesmen needed 6 months from the start date to be able to obtain a loan. We are reducing this period to 3 months.
MET WITH TRADESMEN AND ARTISANSOn the other hand, Minister Bolat announced on his social media account that they met with tradesmen and artisans in Antalya, hosted by the Central Union of the Turkish Tradesmen and Artisans Credit and Guarantee Cooperatives (TESKOMB).
Bolat emphasized that they have been strengthening their support for tradesmen, artisans, and cooperatives, which they see as one of the main pillars of the economy, in line with the production and development goals set forth under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the past 22 years, stating, "In this regard, as the Ministry of Trade, we serve our community of tradesmen and artisans, which has reached approximately 2 million 235 thousand, and we work with 2,991 professional chambers, 82 unions, 13 federations, and confederations." "COMPETITIVE POWER WILL INCREASE"Bolat noted that they are acting in cooperation with all stakeholders and stated: "We are working together with all our stakeholders to solve the problems of our tradesmen and artisans, to respond to their demands and expectations, and to contribute to the establishment of strong infrastructures through financial incentives, grants, and loans. We are focused on shaping our future vision with the new strategies and action plans we have implemented. Today, Turkey, whose GDP has reached 1 trillion 202 billion dollars, has sustained its economic growth uninterrupted for 17 quarters and continues to increase the contribution of goods and services exports to growth, will continue to produce with its tradesmen and artisans and enhance its competitive power in the global arena."
