New development in the Narin Güran case: 45 steps at the time of the murder in the case file.

In the case related to the murder of Narin Güran in Diyarbakır, it is claimed in the indictment and the prosecutor's opinion that Salim Güran, the uncle who is being tried in custody and whose constant movement at the time of the murder was determined by a narrowed base study, took 45 steps between 15:00 and 16:00, the time of the murder, as determined by the examination of the pedometer application on his mobile phone. The report prepared regarding the examination of the mobile phone was also included in the case file.

Narin Güran's lifeless body was found on the 19th day of the search efforts after going missing in the rural Tavşantepe neighborhood of the Bağlar district on August 21, hidden under a sack covered with three stones weighing 30, 25, and 20 kilograms in a stream bed. The first hearing of the case regarding the murder of Narin Güran was held on November 7 at the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court. In the indictment prepared by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding 12 suspects in custody, 4 of them were arrested, including Salim Güran, whose vehicle contained DNA and hair samples belonging to Narin, his mother Yüksel Güran, and his brother Enes Güran, as well as their neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, who confessed to carrying the body to the stream bed after being detained. It was stated that according to HTS and base station records, it was determined that they were in the same house at the time of the incident, and aggravated life imprisonment was requested for the crime of 'intentional murder of a child in participation.' At the end of the 3-day hearing, the court announced its interim decision, ruling that the suspects would remain in custody and adjourned the hearing to December 26.

In the case, the additional expert report requested regarding the technical and data-related aspects of the narrowed base report was also included in the file. The report emphasized that there could be errors due to the transition between bases of approximately 2 meters and 1 minute during the studies, and it was stated that signals were received from at least 20 different bases. The report also included information about Salim Güran's movements.

- He entered Arif Güran's residence around 15:36, and his bases were Diyarbakır Bağlar Yeniköy Bediüzzaman Street Bağlar Diyarbakır and Diyarbakır Sur Abdaldede Gazi Street 168 A Sur Diyarbakır,

- He was at Arif Güran's residence when he met with Mehmet Selim Atasoy around 15:52, and his base was Diyarbakır Sur Abdaldede Gazi Street 168 A Sur Diyarbakır,

- He was located behind Arif Güran's residence around 16:08, and his base was Diyarbakır Sur Dicle, Sur Diyarbakır,

- He was in the cornfield found by Uzunbahçe around 16:35, and his base was Diyarbakır Bağlar Buçuktepe Uzunbahçe, Bağlar Diyarbakır."

REPORT PREPARED REGARDING THE PHONE IN THE CASE FILE

After the request of the Güran family's lawyer Onur Akdağ, the phone of the detained suspect uncle Salim Güran was taken from the judicial deposit for re-examination. During the examination, it was determined that the pedometer application on his phone recorded 45 steps between 15:00 and 16:00, the time of the murder. The prepared report was included in the case file. The report stated that the phone of Salim Güran, taken from the deposit at the request of the defendants Enes Güran, Yüksel Güran, and Salim Güran's lawyers Mustafa Demir, Yılmaz Demiroğlu, and Onur Akdağ, was examined.

PHONE OPENED IN THE PRESENCE OF DEFENSE LAWYERS AND THE COURT

It was stated that the phone was opened in the presence of the defense lawyers and the court, and when entering the applications list and selecting the 'Applications' application, it was seen that there was a section for steps. When the details section of the application was clicked, it was observed that the data was received. When the date was set to August 21, 2024, it was recorded that there were a total of 11,526 steps, a duration of 2 hours and 21 minutes, a distance of 6 kilometers, and 461 calories burned. Upon detailed examination of the steps, it was found that there were records of 450 steps between 12:00-13:00, 533 steps between 13:00-14:00, 266 steps between 14:00-15:00, 45 steps between 15:00-16:00, 949 steps between 16:00-17:00, 804 steps between 17:00-18:00, 430 steps between 18:00-19:00, 2,310 steps between 19:00-20:00, 1,049 steps between 20:00-21:00, 1,702 steps between 21:00-22:00, 883 steps between 22:00-23:00, and 523 steps between 23:00-24:00. After the examination, the application and phone were closed, and this report was prepared."
