It was learned that Muhammed Efe and Muhammed Seferoğlulları, who were fugitives in the investigation into the theft of 25 kilograms of gold and 50 kilograms of silver from the judicial evidence office at the Büyükçekmece Courthouse, surrendered to Turkey at the Georgian border. However, Erdal Timurtaş, who carried out the robbery and fled abroad, is being sought everywhere.

It has been learned that two fugitive suspects in the investigation into the theft of 25 kilograms of gold and 50 kilograms of silver from the evidence office at the Büyükçekmece Courthouse have surrendered to Turkey.

It emerged that a gang linked to a tribe from Ağrı was behind Erdal Timurtaş, who robbed the evidence office at the Istanbul Büyükçekmece Courthouse and fled abroad with his wife. At that time, 16 suspects were apprehended after being identified as transporting the stolen gold and silver in a convoy of 12 vehicles to the Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı.

TWO SUSPECTS SURRENDER IN COURTHOUSE ROBBERY

It was reported that two key suspects, Muhammed Seferoğulları, who directed the organized robbery, waited in a vehicle during the heist, and was sought as a fugitive along with his cousin Muhammed Efe, were captured by Georgian security forces and imprisoned. While the main perpetrator, fugitive courthouse personnel Erdal Timurtaş, was being sought everywhere, it was learned that Muhammed Efe and Muhammed Seferoğulları, whose traces were found in Georgia, crossed the Sarp Border Gate this evening and surrendered to Turkish authorities.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVESTIGATION

The investigation into the robbery of the evidence office at the Büyükçekmece Courthouse in Istanbul has been deepened. Security camera footage and technical studies examined after the incident indicated that Erdal Timurtaş implemented the robbery plan on November 13. Arriving at the courthouse before the morning shift began, Timurtaş emptied the safes, placed 25 kilos of gold and 50 kilos of silver worth 147 million TL into bags, loaded them onto a shopping cart used for carrying files in the courthouse corridors, and took them out. While one person was detained in connection with the incident, it was revealed that Timurtaş and his wife fled to England. A request was made to issue a red notice for the two individuals.
