The 23rd of April National Sovereignty and Children's Day is celebrated with enthusiasm throughout the country in its 105th year, while scandalous images from the celebrations of the CHP's Balıkesir Altıeylül Municipality have drawn reactions.

SCANDAL DANCE SHOWN TO CHILDREN

A dance performance featuring two dancers, one half-naked woman and one man, known for being showcased in nightclubs, was shown to children. The performance, which is far removed from the significance and importance of the day, is expected to negatively affect the psychological development of children, leading to a backlash from citizens on social media.

CULTURE DIRECTOR REMOVED FROM OFFICE

In response to the issue, the Altıeylül Municipality, which has come under scrutiny, announced via its social media account that the culture director has been removed from office and that legal action has been initiated against the company responsible for the organization process.

GOVERNOR'S OFFICE REQUESTED AN INSPECTOR

A statement regarding the controversial performance came from the Balıkesir Governor's Office. The statement said, "It is unacceptable for such a performance, which is incompatible with the general moral values of our society, to take place in an environment where our children are present. Our Governor's Office has requested an inspector from our Ministry of Interior regarding this matter."

ADMINISTRATIVE INSPECTOR ASSIGNED

Following the governor's request for an inspector, the Ministry of Interior announced that an administrative inspector has been assigned to the incident. In a statement from the ministry, it was said, "We strongly condemn the performance held in Balıkesir Altıeylül on National Sovereignty and Children's Day, which is incompatible with general moral values. An administrative inspector has been assigned regarding this incident, which is not in line with the spirit of April 23rd."
