A new operation has been launched in the bribery investigation targeting the Tax Inspection Board. It was reported that 10 suspects were caught in raids conducted in 4 provinces centered in Istanbul. According to the information obtained, a new operation was initiated in the "bribery" investigation carried out by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Civil Servant Crimes Investigation Bureau. The first of the extensive operations conducted by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Financial Crimes Branch Directorate was carried out on December 26, 2024.
THEY WERE DETERMINED TO HAVE REQUESTED AND RECEIVED BRIBES TO AVOID CRIMINAL SANCTIONS
During the third wave of operations conducted within the scope of the investigation, during the expert examination of phones obtained from the suspects, it was determined that many individuals were involved in similar acts. In this context, it was determined that the suspects, whose identities were revealed in the findings within the image and image review reports, were involved in bribery offenses, and these individuals were found to have requested and received bribes in exchange for helping company owners avoid criminal sanctions by establishing relationships with them.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION CONDUCTED IN 4 PROVINCES
Acting on new evidence, teams affiliated with the Financial Crimes Branch launched a new operation this morning in the bribery investigation targeting the Tax Inspection Board. Following long-term technical and physical investigations, a simultaneous operation was conducted in 4 provinces centered in Istanbul. It was reported that 10 suspects were caught in the raids.
The captured suspects were taken to the police station for questioning. It was stated that the investigation procedures carried out within the scope of the investigation are ongoing.
