İlksen Özalper, the founding provincial chair of the New Party in Manisa, has been arrested as part of an investigation into a 'criminal organization for profit' and 'bribery' conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It was stated that the investigation is based on statements given under effective remorse by the suspended Mayor of Uşak, Özkan Yalım, as well as MASAK reports and HTS records.
A new development has occurred in the investigation into İlksen Özalper, the founding provincial chair of the New Party in Manisa. Özalper, who was detained on August 5 as part of the "criminal organization for profit" and "bribery" investigation led by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has been arrested.
Özalper's detention was recorded as the first operation against the party following the establishment of the New Party.
SEARCH CONDUCTED AT HER HOME, TAKEN TO ANKARA
As part of the investigation, a search was also conducted at İlksen Özalper's home.
Özalper, whose procedures at the Manisa Provincial Police Department were completed on the day of her detention, was taken to Ankara to give her statement. Following ongoing procedures, Özalper was arrested.
STATEMENTS OF ÖZKAN YALIM IN THE INVESTIGATION
It is stated that the investigation is based on the statements given by Özkan Yalım, the suspended Mayor of Uşak, under the provisions of "active remorse," as well as MASAK reports and HTS records.
It was noted that the procedures regarding Özalper are also being carried out within the scope of the same investigation file.
THREE OTHERS PREVIOUSLY ARRESTED IN THE SAME FILE
While the file was previously handled by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was transferred to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office following a decision of lack of jurisdiction.
Within the scope of the investigation, Demirhan Gözaçan, advisor to the Mayor of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality, his driver Anıl Demir, and Cem Yüzer, General Manager of Şehzadeler A.Ş., had also been arrested on charges of "membership in a criminal organization for profit" and "bribery."
With the arrest of İlksen Özalper, a new phase has been reached in the investigation.
