A LARGE NUMBER OF FOREIGN COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVES ATTENDED
The ceremony was attended by Çanakkale Governor Ömer Toraman, Çanakkale Strait and Garrison Commander Rear Admiral Mustafa Biçen, Gelibolu 2nd Corps Commander Major General Rasim Yaldız, Chairman of the Çanakkale Battles Gallipoli Historical Area İsmail Kaşdemir, and many representatives from foreign countries.
HYMNES WERE READ, PRAYERS WERE MADE, WREATHS WERE LAID
Protocol members were welcomed by the Maori Cultural Community of the New Zealand Defence Forces. Hymns were read and prayers were made during the ceremony. Wreaths were laid at the New Zealand Memorial, and the national anthems of New Zealand and Turkey were played.
NEW ZEALAND SOLDIERS COMMEMORATED THEIR ANCESTORS WITH THE 'HAKA' DANCE
After the speeches, the national flag was ceremonially lowered to half-mast in honor of the New Zealand soldiers who died in the war, and a moment of silence was observed. The ceremony concluded with the famous haka dance of the New Zealand soldiers.
