The ancient city of Ephesus, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, has opened its doors to visitors at night by being illuminated with lights as part of a night museum practice. This initiative will continue until October 1st.

NIGHT MUSEUM APPLICATION HAS STARTED
As part of the night museum application conducted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ephesus Ancient City will be open to visitors from sunset until midnight starting from June 4th.
SUPPORTED BY SPECIAL LIGHTING
The application, initiated to allow tourists who prefer daytime beaches during the summer months to visit the ancient city during cooler hours, is supported by special lighting in important areas such as the Library of Celsus, the Agora, Kuretes Street, the Temple of Domitian, the ancient theater, and the Terrace Houses.
"VISITORS' INTEREST HAS BEEN INTENSE SINCE THE FIRST DAY"
The Director of the Ephesus Museum, Murat Kaleağasıoğlu, stated that they encountered intense interest on the first day of the night museum application, which will continue until October 1st. Kaleağasıoğlu noted that the night museum application will take place four days a week, saying, "As of June 4th, our night museum in Ephesus has started. We faced a heavy influx of visitors on the first day. Our night visits will be held on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 19:00 to 23:00. Our last ticketing time will be at 22:00. We will pause the application on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays due to reservations." he said.
"WE EXPECT AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF VISITORS THIS YEAR"
Recalling that 300,000 people visited the Ephesus Ancient City as part of the night museum application last year, Kaleağasıoğlu expressed that they expect an increase in visitor numbers this year. Kaleağasıoğlu stated that the night museum application adds a different ambiance to Ephesus, saying, "We expect our visitors to pay more attention to the historical heritage while experiencing this."
"SEEING EPHESUS AT NIGHT IS SOMETHING ELSE"
Among the first visitors of the night museum application, the couple Emin and Özlem Güler stated that they came from Bursa and were happy to coincide with the opening. Emin Güler expressed that the night ambiance affected him greatly, saying, "This is our first time here, we really liked it. We came with our child and took a lot of photos."
"A VERY BEAUTIFUL AURA HAS EMERGED"
Ekin Yılmaz and Mustafa Canevi, who came from Istanbul, said that experiencing the night museum application was the best surprise of their holiday. Ekin Yılmaz stated, "We were curious about Ephesus during the day, but the lighting at night has created a very beautiful aura. We took very nice photos," while Mustafa Canevi added, "Especially the lighting of the Library of Celsus was mesmerizing. You must come at least once in your life."
