According to a report by the Hindustan Times, an explosion occurred at a power plant located in Singhitarai village of the Sakti region in Chhattisgarh state.

Security officials reported that, according to initial determinations following the explosion, 9 workers lost their lives and 15 people were injured, stating that the treatment of the injured continues in hospitals in the Raigarh region. Officials noted that work is ongoing to determine if there are any people trapped at the scene.
