Those involved in counterfeiting products that enter our tables, from olive oil to sucuk, from honey to figs, could not escape the police's pursuit. As a result of a determined effort by Aydın Provincial Police Department teams, tons of counterfeit food with a market value of approximately 2 million TL were seized in the last month, and the perpetrators were heavily penalized.
In Aydın, during 9 separate operations conducted by the Security Branch Directorate teams over the past month to prevent counterfeit activities, unlabeled and adulterated products with a market value of approximately 1 million 946 thousand 100 TL were seized. A total of 2 million 695 thousand 361 TL in administrative fines were imposed on the individuals selling the counterfeit food products.
THE AMOUNT CAUGHT IN ONE MONTH WAS ASTOUNDING
The teams of the Aydın Provincial Police Department's Security Branch Directorate continue their relentless efforts to prevent counterfeit activities that threaten public health. According to the information obtained, in 9 separate operations carried out across the province between June 19 and July 18, 2026, numerous unlabeled and adulterated food products were seized.
THOUSANDS OF KILOGRAMS OF COUNTERFEIT AND UNLABELED FOOD SEIZED
Within the scope of the meticulously conducted operations, the following products prepared for market release were seized:
1,376 liters of unlabeled adulterated olive oil,
525 kilograms of adulterated tomato paste,
500 kilograms of unlabeled sausage,
396 kilograms of unlabeled dried figs,
138 kilograms of unlabeled honey,
90 kilograms of unlabeled olives.
2.6 MILLION TL FINE
Regarding the seized products, legal action was taken against the product owners for violating the Veterinary Services, Plant Health, Food and Feed Law No. 5996. A total administrative fine of 2 million 695 thousand 361 TL was imposed on the individuals acting contrary to the legislation.
Security and inspection authorities emphasized that the protection of citizens' health and the fight against counterfeiting will continue resolutely and effectively across the province.
