A luxurious mansion built for a feudal lord named Abdülkerim Özdemir in Şırnak, featuring Roman and Greek-inspired architecture, has caused a huge stir on social media. The massive structure, which has brought the scale of the tribal economy in the region back into the spotlight, is estimated to have cost over 120 million lira.

ROMAN AND GREEK ARCHITECTURE DREW ATTENTION
Although it is familiar for tribal leaders or prominent figures in the Southeastern Anatolia Region to build ostentatious structures, the architectural style of this building surprised onlookers. The combination of modern architecture with massive Roman and Greek-style tall columns added a peculiar grandeur to the building. Social media users, while commenting on the building's opulence, also began questioning the immense scale of the tribal economy in the region.

So, what is the average cost of such a 'mini palace'? The official per-square-meter unit cost set by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change for luxury, detached structures is around 33,900 TL. However, for structures of this scale with high ceilings, special marble, stonework, and wide facades, the turnkey market cost ranges from 55,000 TL to 90,000 TL per square meter.
Assuming the building has at least 3-4 floors and a gross construction area between 1,000 and 1,500 square meters, the estimated cost emerges as 120,000,000 TL.
