The life of a woman in Ankara, who rejected the friendship request of her obsessive neighbor, has turned into a nightmare. Sevda Çiftçi, a 44-year-old resident of the Yenimahalle district, rejected the offer of her neighbor H.A., who expressed his interest in her and wanted to be friends two years ago. Following this, Çiftçi stated that H.A. became obsessed with her and claimed that she was repeatedly assaulted by him and his relatives along with her children. After the last incident they experienced, Çiftçi expressed that they had to leave their home, stating that they were constantly subjected to death threats and that she was worried about the safety of her children. She mentioned that they could not enter their home due to fear and had to stay in different places for days, adding that she lost her job due to what they went through. Çiftçi, who divorced her husband 12 years ago and is raising her five children alone, stated that their lives have turned into a nightmare. "I HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS MULTIPLE TIMES BUT DID NOT GET RESULTS"Speaking about their situation, Sevda Çiftçi said, "The incident started two years ago when my neighbor sent me a message on social media. He sent me harassing messages and wanted to meet. When his insistence continued, I told my family about the situation. Instead of warning their father, the children confronted me. They started to mess with my children. They assaulted my daughter, and threatened my other daughter and son. I have filed complaints multiple times but did not get results; the cases were closed. In the last incident, my daughters were assaulted again. My little children were threatened. I filed a criminal complaint, but when I returned, I was assaulted again. I cannot enter my home. I have been staying in different places with my children for four days. We are in a very difficult situation. Our lives are in danger. The threats are still ongoing. We have no way out," she said. "I DON'T KNOW HOW I WILL GET THERE"Çiftçi, who said they could not go home because they were afraid, stated, "In the slightest incident, they gather a group of 20 people in a short time. After these incidents, I cut off contact with my neighbor, but I could not escape. I plan to go get my belongings today, but I don't know how I will get there. I requested protection and a restraining order, but I have not received any results yet. I am worried about the safety of my children. They attack when they see them. Our lives are in danger. A solution must be found for this. They threatened us, saying, 'You will not be able to enter your home. We will kill you. You will leave this neighborhood.' Someone wanted to meet on our behalf. They told him, 'We are armed and have knives. You should not get involved in this. We are waiting for them to come. The moment they come, there will be bloodshed.' Because of this situation, I could not go to my job and was dismissed. We are very victimized," she said. "THEY CONSTANTLY THREATEN US, SAYING 'WE WILL THROW DIRT ON YOU'"Yağmur Koçak, one of Çiftçi's assaulted daughters, stated, "My mother hid the situation for a while to protect us. We started to be subjected to the bad looks of our neighbors without knowing anything. Another neighbor had a fight with them. They started to attack us when they saw us. They gathered and beat my brother. In the last incident, the attackers had gathered again. One of them entered the building and bumped into my brother while passing by. I warned him and asked him to leave. He started to complain and attacked. A scuffle broke out. At that moment, other people also entered the building. They pulled my brother into the elevator. A man beat my brother with kicks and punches. I also got hit on the head. I got dizzy and fell to the ground. They constantly threaten us, saying, 'We will throw dirt on you.' We are subjected to insults. They said they would not let us into the apartment we live in. We want a protection order. We will move, but I know we will be followed. Something needs to be done. We have no safety," she expressed.
