In the negotiation process initiated by the call of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, while waiting for a statement from PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, it was reported that Öcalan sent letters to the PKK, PYD, and the Northern Iraq administrations.
The process that began with the call of MHP General Chairman Devlet Bahçeli during his party's group meeting on October 22, stating, "If the isolation of the terrorist leader is lifted, let him come and speak at the TBMM DEM Party group meeting. Let him proclaim that terrorism has completely ended and that the organization has been dissolved," led to the DEM Party delegation visiting Öcalan twice on December 28 and January 22.
BAKIRHAN: ÖCALAN IS PREPARING TO MAKE A HISTORICAL CALL
DEM Party Co-Chair Bakırhan stated in his remarks at the group meeting on February 4, "Mr. Öcalan is preparing to make a historical call in the coming days for the construction of a democratic Turkey for the fundamental and permanent solution of the Kurdish issue."
DEM PARTY DELEGATION WILL MEET WITH BARZANI AND TALABANI
On the other hand, it was reported that the İmralı delegation, consisting of TBMM Deputy Speaker Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Van MP Pervin Buldan, along with DBP Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır, members of the Foreign Relations Commission, and party officials, will visit the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government on February 16-17 to meet with officials there. The delegation is expected to meet with Mesut Barzani and Neçirvan Barzani in Erbil, and then meet with YNK Leader Bafil Talabani, Kubat Talabani, and YNK officials in Sulaymaniyah.
THE DELEGATION WILL REQUEST A 3RD MEETING WITH ÖCALAN
After these contacts, the delegation will request a third meeting with Öcalan to provide information. After returning from the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government, the Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan will evaluate the situation and decide whether to make a statement.
