A fire broke out in the Arpalık Çukuru area on the Kırıkkale-Kayseri highway and spread to the mountainous area due to the effect of the wind. Upon notification, Kırıkkale Municipality, MKE AŞ, and Forest Management Directorate fire teams were dispatched to the region. After about 3 hours of work by the teams, the fire was brought under control without spreading to the forested area.

3 THOUSAND ACRES DAMAGED DUE TO BARBECUE FIRE

It was determined that the fire started due to the fire spreading from the barbecue burned in the garden of a vineyard house. Approximately 3 thousand acres of land were damaged as a result of the fire.

Cooling work was carried out in the completely controlled area. Yahşihan District Governor and Provincial Special Administration General Secretary Ender Faruk Uzunoğlu, who came to the region, received information from the relevant institution officials about the cause of the fire. Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams stood guard at critical points where warehouses were located as a precaution after the fire. Legal and administrative proceedings were initiated against the person or persons responsible for the fire.

Kırıkkale Mayor Ahmet Önal also came to the fire area and received information about the current situation from the fire brigade teams. Mayor Önal stated in his statement to the İHA reporter that the fire spread over a wide area. Önal, who stated that an area of ​​approximately 3 thousand square meters was affected by the fire, used the following statements: "We are in the area between Ahılı and Hasandede villages. Our Kırıkkale Municipality Fire Department teams, Machinery and Chemical Industry Directorate teams, Bahşılı and Yahşihan Municipalities are intervening here. The fire has affected a quite large area in about a few hours. According to the information I received from the authorized friends, it has reached an effective situation in an area of ​​approximately 3 thousand acres of land. Our friends intervened in critical points where the fire continued. Cooling work is still ongoing in some places. Our friends took precautions in the parts where the fire continued"

Önal, explaining that the fire grew due to strong winds, said, "Necessary work is continuing to prevent the fire from spreading further. We can say that the fire is under control at the moment. Only extinguishing work is still ongoing on the other side. It is a pleasing incident that there were no casualties. But many trees are affected. I wish you a speedy recovery. Ahılı village headman Davut Doğan stated that the fire spread towards the mountainous area and said, "Thank God our crops had been harvested. The fire brigade extinguished the fire, and cooling work is currently being carried out."
