It has emerged that Oğuzhan Uğur, the founder of Babala TV and a detainee in the investigation into the Ahbap Association, contacted singer Atilla Taş just two days before the operation, expressing great anxiety. According to Taş's post, Uğur confessed, 'We saw Haluk Levent's mistakes and cut ties in 2023, but I remained silent out of fear of being lynched.'
The waters are not settling down as the investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Ahbap Association deepens.
In today's operation carried out by the Anti-Financial Crime Branch Directorate, seven people, including Oğuzhan Uğur, were apprehended out of nine suspects for whom detention warrants were issued. It was learned that among those detained were financial auditors, association employees, and a name operating in the cryptocurrency market. While the suspects' statement procedures continue at the Vatan Police Headquarters, the details of the charges against Oğuzhan Uğur are beginning to come to light.
LARGE FOREIGN CURRENCY TRANSFERS FROM ABROAD UNDER MASAK SCRUTINY
One of the most striking allegations against Uğur in the investigation file is the unusual activity in his bank accounts. Following the aid calls after the February 6 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, it was determined that large amounts of foreign currency were deposited into Uğur's accounts from abroad. The uncertainty surrounding the fate of this money, most of which is estimated to have come from expatriate citizens, came under review after officials from a private bank reported the situation to the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK).

According to information shared on CNN Türk broadcasts, due to these suspicious money flows, Oğuzhan Uğur is directly facing charges of "laundering of crime proceeds" and "membership in a criminal organization."

The statements made by singer Atilla Taş immediately after Oğuzhan Uğur's detention raised new questions about the background of the investigation. Taş stated that Uğur called him two days ago and was very anxious, sharing their conversation with the public. According to Taş, Uğur said they saw some mistakes by Haluk Levent and cut off all ties with him in 2023. However, he confessed that he chose to remain silent because he feared Levent's immunity at that time and potential social media lynching. Atilla Taş stated that he warned Uğur "they will come for you too" after this confession, expressed that the detention decision did not surprise him, and said he believes Uğur is just one of those who fell for this situation.
CURRENT STATUS OF THE INVESTIGATION
The MASAK reports and technical surveillance prepared against Ahbap Association employees and managers had revealed a staggering network of financial irregularities. It was determined that the suspects carried out high-value money movements completely inconsistent with their financial profiles, lost aid money by gambling large amounts on games of chance, and made chain property transfers within a short period to launder money. In previous waves of this extensive investigation, conducted under charges of "forming a criminal organization," "qualified fraud," and "laundering of asset values," a total of 14 people, including the association's founder Haluk Levent, were arrested and sent to prison. Oğuzhan Uğur and the other suspects are expected to be referred to the courthouse after their questioning at the police department.
