As the month of Ramadan approaches, there is a noticeable increase in food and iftar menu prices. In supermarkets, Ramadan food packages are being sold with a 70% price increase, while a 30% increase in the price of Ramadan bread is expected. In luxury restaurants, iftar menu prices can reach up to 5,000 TL per person.
As the month of Ramadan approaches, price changes have started to be observed in markets for milk, dairy products, and packaged legumes compared to last month. This year, iftar menus, food packages, and pide prices also seem to be quite high.
THE LOWEST RAMADAN PACKAGE IS 234 LIRA
Ramadan packages offered in chain markets have taken their place on the shelves with price increases ranging from 50% to 70% compared to last year. While there hasn't been a significant change in the contents of the packages, it has been observed that some brands from last year's packages have changed, and there are differences in kilograms for some products. According to Turkey newspaper; the lowest Ramadan package starts at 234 lira and can go up to 1,440 lira. The lowest segment Ramadan packages include products such as liquid oil, rice, sugar, tea, granulated sugar, bulgur, pasta, tomato paste, salt, and pudding. However, as the packages get larger, the product contents also change.
30% INCREASE IN RAMADAN PIDE
While discussions about bread prices continue, it has been stated that the price of Ramadan pide will also increase by 30% this year. No official statement has been made yet, but bakers indicate that the price will rise. İbrahim Çelik, the President of the Bodrum Bakers Association, announced that the price of a 200-gram Ramadan pide has been set at 20 TL. Çelik stated that this increase is inevitable due to rising costs and said, "This price will be valid throughout the month of Ramadan." Pide prices across Turkey are expected to be announced soon.
THE CHEAPEST DATES ARE 450 LIRA
There has also been an increase in the prices of dates, which are indispensable during the month of Ramadan. Last year, date prices ranged from 350 to 450 lira, while this year they are sold between 450 and 700 lira.

IFTAR MENUS IN RESTAURANTS WILL BE EXPENSIVE
Those planning to have iftar outside will face significantly higher prices compared to last year. Iftar menus in restaurants have increased by 30% to 70%.
- Esnaf restaurants: 400-500 TL per person
- Standard restaurants: starting from 750 TL per person
- Luxury venues: between 1,000-1,500 TL
- Hotels and luxury restaurants along the Bosphorus: up to 4-5 thousand TL per person
The President of the All Restaurants and Hoteliers Association (TÜRES), Ramazan Bingöl, stated, "Rising operating costs have been reflected in prices. However, there are menu options available for every budget."
