Positive news flow regarding diplomatic negotiations between the US and Iran eased supply concerns in global markets. Following these developments, the price of Brent crude oil fell by 5.5% to $105.93 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil dropped below the $100 threshold, trading at $99.32 per barrel.
Oil prices experienced a sharp pullback in international futures markets amid positive news flow regarding US-Iran talks.
A 5.5% DROP
Brent crude oil futures fell by approximately 5.5% compared to yesterday's close, reaching $105.93 per barrel as of 19:26 today. At the same time, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was trading at $99.32 per barrel, down 4.85%.
The decline in prices was driven by easing supply concerns in the markets, fueled by positive news surrounding US-Iran negotiations.
TRUMP: I THINK WE'LL FINISH THIS VERY QUICKLY
In a speech at the Coast Guard Academy graduation ceremony in Connecticut, US President Donald Trump argued that they have largely eliminated Iran's military capacity, stating, "The only question now is: are we going to go in and finish the job, or are they going to sign a deal? Let's see what happens."
Trump had previously emphasized that negotiations with Iran were ongoing, noting that they would see soon whether a deal could be reached.
Expressing that they would end the war very quickly, Trump said, "They are eager to make a deal; they are tired of this situation. I think we'll finish this very quickly. I hope we resolve it in a good way."
"US DELIVERED A NEW PROPOSAL TO IRAN VIA PAKISTANI MEDIATORS"
Meanwhile, Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency, citing a source close to the Tehran negotiating team, reported that after Iran sent its 14-point proposal three days ago, the US conveyed a new proposal to Iran through Pakistani mediators.
The report stated that Iran is reviewing the latest proposal and has not yet responded, noting that the Pakistani mediator is in Tehran to resolve differences between the proposals, emphasizing that nothing has been finalized yet.
PAKISTAN'S INTERIOR MINISTER IN TEHRAN
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Baqaei made statements regarding the ongoing exchange of messages with the US, noting that the purpose of Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi's visit to Iran was to facilitate the exchange of messages with the US and provide additional clarifications to clarify the texts sent between the parties. Baqaei stated that despite "strong and reasonable suspicions" toward the US side, Iran continues negotiations with "seriousness and goodwill."
