An agreement has been reached in the prisoner exchange talks, which continue under the mediation of the USA, Qatar, and Egypt, including a ceasefire in Gaza. Evaluations regarding the agreement, which was announced to start on January 19, have also come in succession.

ÖMER ÇELİK: WE WILL CONTINUE TO STAND BY OUR PALESTINIAN BROTHERS

AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made a statement on his social media account after the agreement was reached. In his statement, Çelik said, "Israel's brutal aggression against Gaza continues to wound the conscience of all humanity. Today, we welcome the agreement on a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, albeit with a heavy heart. The efforts of the mediating countries, especially Qatar and Egypt, that played a role in this ceasefire process are very valuable."

Çelik also stated, "We hope that the ceasefire becomes permanent and that all necessary aid can reach our Palestinian brothers in Gaza as soon as possible. We advocate that a sovereign Palestinian State with its capital in East Jerusalem, based on the 1967 borders, must be established as soon as possible for a permanent ceasefire and subsequently a lasting peace. With the principled and resolute policy of our President, we will continue to stand by our Palestinian brothers as we have until now. We once again pray for God's mercy on the martyrs of Gaza and all of Palestine," he wrote.

"A PALESTINIAN STATE IS ESSENTIAL FOR PEACE"

TBMM President Numan Kurtulmuş stated in his remarks that the Palestinian State is a necessity for justice and peace. Kurtulmuş said, "The just struggle and honorable resistance of the Palestinian people continue to be the voice of humanity. The ceasefire achieved in Gaza should be the beginning of steps taken for the construction of lasting peace. The freedom of Palestine and the recognition of its rights is a struggle to uphold the common values of humanity, not just one people. The key to peace and stability in the Middle East is the freedom of the Palestinian people. For this purpose, every positive development in Gaza is a very important milestone on the road to lasting peace," he stated.

Kurtulmuş, who said, "We sincerely believe that the victory of the oppressed will surely manifest in honor of the sacred memories of the Palestinian martyrs we remember with respect once again," added, "It is the historical responsibility of the international community for the Palestinian people to have a fully independent state where they can live freely. The recognition of a Palestinian State with its capital in Jerusalem, based on the 1967 borders, is essential for establishing lasting peace and justice in the region. As Turkey, we will continue to stand by the Palestinian cause with a united stance of the nation and the state. Our prayers are with our brothers in Palestine, and we are fully confident that their struggle will reach a dignified and just outcome," he wrote.
