THEY THREATENED TRADESMEN AND EXTORTED MONEY
Under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an operation was carried out against the "Ugly" organized crime syndicate by teams from the Provincial Police Department's Organized Crime Branch. In the investigations, it was determined that the syndicate members extorted money from tradesmen and businesspeople through threats. It was learned that those who refused to pay were targeted with armed attacks on their workplaces.
THEY SHARED FOOTAGE TO INTIMIDATE
It was found that the suspects shared footage of the armed attacks they carried out on social media and various communication channels to create fear. The 5 suspects detained in the operation were reported to have been involved in 4 separate incidents.
THEY HID THE WEAPONS IN A TRASH PILE
Police teams determined that the suspects hid the weapons they used inside a trash pile in a deserted area. After their procedures at the police station, the 5 suspects were referred to the courthouse and were arrested by the court they were brought before.
