The Ministry of Trade imposed a total fine of 14.5 million lira on those who increased prices in real estate listings for sale and rent after the earthquake that occurred in Istanbul. In a post shared on the Ministry's social media account, emphasizing "We will never allow opportunism," information regarding inspections was provided.
14 MILLION 500 THOUSAND LIRA FINE FOR EARTHQUAKE OPPORTUNISTS
In the statement indicating that those who increased prices in real estate listings for sale and rent on the same day after the earthquake in Istanbul were identified by the Ministry, it was noted: A total fine of 14 million 500 thousand lira was imposed on each individual who sought to take advantage of our citizens being in a difficult situation, with each fine amounting to 250 thousand lira. The Ministry of Trade will continue to monitor situations that may develop against our citizens in the real estate sector after the earthquake and will take measures to prevent practices that could lead to victimization.
