Conflicts and bomb attacks between Russia and Ukraine continue. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban addressed the war between the two countries in an interview with the national press. Orban suggested that the armed conflict in Ukraine would end in 2025, stating, "The war in Ukraine will end in 2025. It will either end with a peace agreement or with the collapse of one of the warring parties." HE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE MONEY SPENT ON UKRAINEReminding that the US and Europe have spent approximately 300 billion euros on the war in Ukraine, Orban said, "With this money, we could have achieved a rapid increase in the standard of living across all of Europe. We could have raised the entire Balkans to Europe's level of development. We could have limited migration and built a completely new European defense system. However, this money has gone to waste," he lamented. "CONFLICTS ONLY LED TO DEATH AND DESTRUCTION"Stating that the conflicts in Ukraine have only led to death and destruction, Orban said, "Millions of people have left Ukraine, which has been devastated in terms of infrastructure, transportation, and energy systems. The country will not be able to support itself economically in the foreseeable future." AN ADDITIONAL 30 BILLION EUROS IN SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE FROM THE EUEuropean Union (EU) leaders had agreed to provide an additional 30 billion euros in support to Ukraine by 2025. The new President of the EU Council, Antonio Costa, stated that supporting Ukraine against Russia was a top priority on the summit's agenda, saying, "I can say that the general atmosphere in the room reflects a strong determination. Our message is very clear. The EU is united in its support for Ukraine to achieve a comprehensive, fair, and lasting peace." Costa pointed out that the EU has provided a total of 130 billion euros in financial support to Ukraine since the war began in February 2022, stating, "We will provide an additional 30 billion euros in 2025."
