It has been claimed that Galatasaray has encountered high transfer fees and wage demands in transfer negotiations, and that the perception of the club's economic strength, especially following the Victor Osimhen transfer, has increased the figures in negotiations.
Galatasaray, the reigning champion of the Super Lig, continues its efforts to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season. The yellow-reds have so far added 22-year-old French footballer Lesley Ugochukwu to their squad on loan from Burnley.
The slow progress of transfer efforts is attributed to clubs' high transfer fee demands and players' high salary demands.
OSIMHEN TRANSFER RAISED THE BAR
It was stated that Galatasaray's perception as one of the clubs with high economic power in the European football market has complicated transfer negotiations.
It was claimed that especially after the Victor Osimhen transfer, the transfer fee and salary figures demanded from the yellow-red club have increased significantly.
"NEGOTIATIONS START AT 30 MILLION EUROS"
The yellow-red officials described the situation with these words:
"We have no issues with money or limits. However, costs are very high. Whoever's door we knock on, negotiations start at 30 million euros. Astronomical figures are being discussed this season. Players' salary expectations are likewise quite high."
A portion of Galatasaray fans also protested the management regarding transfers during the recent match against Rennes.
