Turkish police seized over 51 kilograms (113.4 pounds) of heroin in the eastern Van province, bordering Iran, a security source said on Friday.

The drug was found in a suspicious minibus that was stopped by an anti-narcotics team at the Ipekyolu district, said the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

In the sniffer dog-assisted operation, 100 packs of heroin were found in the vehicle.

While the contraband was seized and the driver was arrested, police continued their search for one more fugitive suspect.
