As the leadership crisis within the party deepens following the 'absolute nullity' ruling against CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress, a claim that has stirred up Ankara's backstage has emerged. It is alleged that the administration of Özgür Özel, who was temporarily removed from duty by court order, offered the DSP leadership to "hand over the party to us." However, CHP Deputy Group Chairman Murat Emir, who is at the center of the allegations, denied the claims, stating, "I did not propose taking over the DSP."
While the leadership crisis within the party continues after the 'absolute nullity' decision regarding CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress, a striking claim has been brought to the agenda.
OFFER TO DSP: "GIVE US THE PARTY"
TGRT News Ankara Representative Fatih Atik claimed that the administration of Özgür Özel, who was temporarily removed from the CHP Chairmanship by court decision, contacted the Democratic Left Party (DSP) administration with the proposal "Give us the party."
According to the claim reported by Atik during a live broadcast, DSP Chair Önder Aksakal also confirmed this meeting and stated that the offer was conveyed by CHP Deputy Group Chair Murat Emir.
EMIR: I DID NOT MAKE A PROPOSAL TO TAKE OVER THE DSP
After the claim became a topic of discussion, Emir made a statement on his social media account regarding the issue. Emir stated that he did not make any proposal to "take over the party" directed at DSP, expressing that the meeting was merely a friendly conversation with DSP Deputy Chair İbrahim Yumuşak.
In his statement, Emir said: "A need to inform the public has arisen due to exaggerated speculations based on a meeting. We had a friendly conversation with Deputy Chair Mr. İbrahim Yumuşak in his office, over a cup of tea, the content of which also included the political crisis we are experiencing. Not only did I not have any proposal to take over the DSP, but it is also clear that making such an offer would be considered extremely rude. It is possible that Chair Önder Aksakal may have misunderstood the issue. No one should doubt that we will not surrender CHP to the Palace against any kind of unlawfulness and injustice, and that we will fight until the end."
